Lower & Middle School Admissions

Lower School Admissions

We are selective in admissions and seek students who will benefit from our programs as well as positively contribute to our community. We have one lower school class per grade which means classes fill up quickly!

Students being considered for admission to a lower school grade (K-5) will be invited for an in-person visit. If invited in, parents will meet with the Lower School Director and Admissions Director while your child will either spend time in class, or with a specialist or teacher.  Depending on the application grade, we might offer a half or full day visit for your child.  Please note that not all applicants are invited to move forward in the process. The Admissions Office will reach out to you to set up a virtual or in-person visit if your child is moving to the next step of the process.

Middle School Admissions

In middle school we expand our 6th grade over size making this a major intake year. Each year we have a select amount of spots in our 7th and 8th grades however we have less availability in those grades. We are selective in this division as well and seek students who will benefit from our programs as well as positively contribute to our community.

An in-person student interview will be scheduled by the Admissions Office which includes an interview and tour (for both student and parents). Depending on the application, we might offer a half or full day visit for your child.  Because we have limited spaces, our interviews are by invitation only and not all applicants will be invited in.  We will review all materials as they are received will begin to offer invitations for interviews by January (sometimes earlier).

Steps to Apply

Step 1:
Our Admissions Process begins with creating and logging in to your child’s account in Ravenna.

Step 2: Delegate teacher assessment forms via Ravenna. For Middle School applicants we require 1 teacher assessment from an ELA teacher and 1 from a Math teacher. For Lower School applicants we require 1 teacher assessment.

Step 3: Upload copies of report cards from the past 2 years as well as well as the current year. For students applying to K or 1, please upload report card from current year (if possible)

Step 4: If you have evaluations (IEP/Neuropsych eval) that are applicable to your child and will help us to best understand your child, please upload these to Ravenna.

Step 5: Submit application! Please note you can submit the application prior to having all parts complete. We will, however, wait until all materials are in to begin our review.

Step 6: If your child is invited in for an interview, approximately 2 – 3 weeks after the interview, the admissions committee will notify the prospective family of the applicant’s admission status.  If the student is accepted and offered a seat, a contract will be sent from our business office.
