Sean joined Bay Ridge Prep in 2019 as the school’s Educational Technologist. His passion for educational technologies and their ability to revolutionize education motivates him to support students and teachers with tools that can expand their potential and prepare them to be digital citizens in an ever-changing world.

Sean grew up in Dutchess County, New York, and graduated cum laude with a BA in Communications from the University at Albany. During his time at Albany, he completed a fulltime internship at Capital News 9, a 24-hour CNN affiliate, and studied abroad at the University of Newcastle in Newcastle, Australia. He earned his Masters Degree in Learning and Emerging Technologies from Empire State College, where he published his thesis on Digital Resources for Teaching Students with Dyslexia. He remains affiliated with Empire State College as a founding member of the Institute for New Paradigms (INP), an educational think tank that meets in virtual worlds to research and discuss cutting-edge technologies and
how they can be applied in the classroom and beyond.

Prior to Bay Ridge Prep, Sean was the Assistive Technology Coordinator at The Kildonan School, a boarding school for students with dyslexia. At Kildonan, he also served as a classroom technology integration specialist, Orton-Gillingham tutor, college and test prep teacher, dorm supervisor and tennis and snowboard coach. In addition to his regular duties during the school year, he also worked at Kildonan’s Camp Dunnabeck, an academic summer camp.

Sean lived on the Big Island, Hawaii, for a few years and even met his wife there! He is also an avid snowboarder and snowboarding instructor, holding a Level II national
certification from the American Association of Snowboard Instructors (AASI).
