Cross Country Brings Home 16 Medals
The Cross Country Tigers had one of the most successful seasons to date this fall. The 40-person roster spanned Grades 5-12 and many of those runners participated in competitive meets.
Grades 5 and 6 competed on a weekly basis at independent school fun runs at Cadman Plaza and Shore Road Park. Grades 7-12 participated in the Independent School Athletic League (ISAL) meets at the world famous Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx. During the mid-October championship week, the Tigers brought home 16 medals between our Middle school and Varsity teams!
Highlights from the season also included the Cross Country Varsity Girls taking second place in the ISAL championship and 9th Grader Wyatt Powers setting a personal record a school record for fastest 5K run. This season also saw senior Alan Mandalaoui ’23 run his final Cross Country race for the Tigers.
Overall, the Cross Country Tigers remained determined and practiced hard each week while supporting each other to the full extent. We’re looking forward to seeing many of the runners continue to excel during the winter and spring track seasons, and during next fall’s cross country season.
