Brie joined Bay Ridge Prep in 2019. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration while studying Literature, Aesthetics, and Philosophy in the Edgar Fellows Honors Program at SUNY Geneseo. Before earning her Masters in Adolescent English Education and her NYS English Teaching Certification (Grades 7-12) at Columbia University Teachers College, she spent four years abroad in South Korea teaching at a private international school. She spent her last two years at the school training new staff members and managing operations as Head Teacher and Foreign Teacher Supervisor. While in Korea, she also coached Debate and Speech, winning multiple national competitions for her campus.

Brie taught at our Middle School campus for three years. She transitioned to our Upper School in 2022. Before joining us at Bay Ridge Prep, she taught 8th Grade ELA at Baruch Middle School and 10th Grade European Literature at Stuyvesant High School. She is also a member of the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE). She is passionate about bringing voices from the dustiest corners of the human experience into her classroom and believes social justice should be seamlessly integrated into all curricula.

Originally from Bayside, Queens, Brie happily moved to Bay Ridge to be closer to our school community. She enjoys oil painting, jewelry making, reading, writing, singing, and acting. She is a member of the Sackett Street Writers, and she hopes to one day publish her first YA novel.
