Swimming Makes a Splash in Debut Season

 

The Bay Ridge Prep Varsity Swimming Tigers dived right into being a competitive force during their first season! Competing in the ISAL, the team finished their debut season 4th in the girls division and 6th in the boys division. Highlights from the season included Shila Jenkins ’25 winning two gold medals in the ISAL Varsity Swimming Championship and qualifying for the NYSAIS Varsity Swimming State Championship.  

 

The season started with Jenkins placing first in 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle while Misha Igel-Jaiani ‘23 placed third in the Boys 100-yard Freestyle. Also occurring earlier in the season was Jenkins along with Sophia Feder ‘24, Catherine Mack ‘24 and Sophia Saadi ‘26 placed third in the Girls 200-yard Freestyle Relay, trailing the second place team by just an eight-hundredths of a second! George Brownstein ‘24 finished first in their heat in the Girls 100-yard Breaststroke while Selina Psarras ‘26 tied for second in her heat in the same race.

 

With their first ever season now in the rearview, the Tigers look forward to even more success in their sophomore swim season!
