Erik loves waking up each morning looking forward to the opportunity to work with wonderful students and teachers.“Being a progressive school, Bay Ridge Prep allows not only students to learn in ways that are appropriate for them but I, as a teacher, learn each day,” Erik says.A long-time practitioner of Tae Kwon Do, Erik is also a martial arts instructor inside and outside of Bay Ridge Prep. He and his wife, high school teacher Natasha Hazell, attend practices together and their son, a Bay Ridge Prep student, has also started training. Referring to his entire family being involved in Tae Kwon Do and Bay Ridge Prep, Erik says it is “a blessing to be able to do something you love with the people you love.”In addition to martial arts, Erik is an 12-time New York City Marathon runner, an avid reader, a New York Yankees, New York Giants and New York Knicks fan and a super fan of pizza and visiting various types of pizzerias.
